Bride of the Twilight, developed by Lumiere Entertainment, is a Narrative game that has been launched in 15 different countries. Specialized in narrative game development, Lumiere Entertainment has launched a myriad of narrative games. It is hard to add new systems to narrative games after launch. Not only does adding new features incur additional costs, but it also has a cascading effect on the existing scenarios. Therefore, Lumiere Entertainment had to maximize its profits by leveraging its existing paid products without additional development.

Solution

TentuPlay developed the most cost-effective offer by understanding the characteristics of the narrative genre and analyzing user behavior. In the narrative genre, the game progresses in various directions due to the interaction between the user and the character. Therefore each user has the tendency to play around with the characters that they like. In consideration of these users’ tendencies, TentuPlay analyzes user behavior and reflects the analytics in the AI In-game shop. TentuPlay induced in-game purchases by identifying which character each user “prefers” and suggested products related to that character.

Result

Lumiere Entertainment increased the sales ratio of recommended products by sending users personalized offers, suggested by TentuPlay, without additional development. TentuPlay discovered that about 7% of all users preferred the character C and recommended products necessary products to proceed with the story related to the character C, which significantly increased the sales portion of that product. A simple message that reflects users’ preferences for a character can boost overall purchases. If it is a game with various characters, collect data that can reflect the user's preference for each character. By leveraging the collected data to understand each user's preference for a character and sending a simple message reflecting this will generate extra revenue.
